Our dumpsters are designed to handle most household junk, construction debris, and renovation waste. Common items include:

• Furniture (sofas, chairs, tables, mattresses*)

• Appliances (without CFCs, or with fees if they contain refrigerants)

• Household junk & clutter

• Yard waste (branches, brush, leaves)

• Construction debris (wood, drywall, siding, flooring, roofing)

• Scrap metal & non-hazardous materials

⚠ Items NOT allowed include hazardous waste such as paints, oils, fuels, asbestos, chemicals, or anything flammable or toxic.

⚠ Certain items like mattresses, tires, propane tanks, batteries, and TVs/monitors carry additional disposal fees (see our Prohibited Items & Fees list).

For the safety of our team, customers, and the environment, certain items cannot be placed in our dumpsters. Please review the following guidelines before loading your container:

Hazardous Waste

• Motor Oils & Fuels: Used oils, gasoline, and petroleum products are flammable and toxic. These items are strictly prohibited in dumpsters and should be taken to your local hazardous waste center.

• Asbestos: This highly dangerous fiber was once common in ceilings, insulation, roofing, flooring, and other construction materials (primarily before the late 1970s). Asbestos requires special handling and is not permitted in our dumpsters.

• Paints & Lacquers: Items such as paints, thinners, wood stains, and lacquers may contain harmful elements like lead or mercury (especially those manufactured before the 1990s). These products are prohibited. Note: In most municipalities, dry latex paint may be disposed of if sealed in a plastic bag. Empty paint cans are typically accepted.

• Batteries: Batteries contain corrosive chemicals and heavy metals. Car batteries with lead-acid components are especially hazardous. Please bring batteries to a proper recycling or disposal facility.

Other Prohibited Materials

• Concrete & Dirt: These heavy materials are not allowed in standard dumpsters. Note: Arsenal Waste will still ACCEPT this, as long as it is called in and rented as a concrete dumpster. nothing besides concrete/dirt will be allowed in these and additional fees will apply.

• Any Items Classified as Hazardous Waste: If you’re unsure, ask before loading.

Why It Matters Keeping prohibited and hazardous materials out of dumpsters helps protect the environment and ensures compliance with state and local disposal regulations. Practicing proper disposal also promotes environmental stewardship—something valued by both our community and customers.

No — you don’t need to be there for drop-off. With the Arsenal Advantage, we make delivery simple and convenient. All we ask is that you provide clear placement instructions ahead of time so our driver knows exactly where to set your dumpster.

To make things even easier, payment is handled securely at the time of booking or over the phone. That way, everything is taken care of before delivery, and you can focus on your project while we handle the rest.

Each dumpster rental comes with 1 ton of disposal included in the base price. If your load exceeds that amount, we simply charge an overweight fee of $225 per ton. This fee is billed based on the landfill’s certified scale ticket.

We recommend loading your dumpster evenly and being mindful of heavy materials to avoid surprises. If you’re unsure about what your project might weigh, our team is happy to guide you on the right size dumpster before you book.

When planning for your dumpster, remember that the most convenient spot for loading may not always be the best delivery spot. For example, if you’re cleaning out an upstairs bedroom, you may want the dumpster directly under a window for easy access — but if that area is across the lawn, our trucks cannot safely reach it.

The ideal placement is on a hard, level surface such as compacted dirt, pavement, or a driveway. Our drivers will always recommend the safest and most practical location for your situation.

To protect your property, our drivers will place protective materials beneath the dumpster to help prevent scratches or surface damage when set on a driveway.

⚠ Important: Arsenal Waste does not permit trucks to drive on lawns, and we cannot accept liability for damage if a customer insists on placing the dumpster in a compromising area.

For safe placement, please allow at least:

• 10 feet of width (about a standard driveway)

• 20 feet of vertical clearance free of wires, branches, or other obstacles

When you’re finished, just let us know — either by phone or online — and we’ll schedule your pickup.

• If you’re done before your rental period ends: We’ll typically remove the dumpster early, often the next business day. The latest it will be picked up is the final day of your scheduled rental.

• If you keep the dumpster past your rental period: It will be removed at our next available pickup time, and any extra days will be billed at $10 per day.

There’s no need to be home during removal as long as the driver has clear access to the container. We’ll handle the hauling, disposal, and weighing so you can focus on your project.

Yes — weather can impact your dumpster’s weight. Rain, snow, or ice can soak into debris like wood, carpet, furniture, or yard waste, adding extra pounds. Since disposal is billed based on landfill weight tickets, this can result in overweight charges if your load exceeds the included tonnage.

Tips to reduce weather impact:

• Keep your dumpster covered with a tarp during heavy rain or snow.

• Avoid letting absorbent materials (like drywall, mattresses, or yard waste) sit uncovered.

• Schedule your delivery or pickup around storms when possible.

Taking these precautions can help you stay within your included weight and avoid extra fees.

If the dumpster is placed on private property like your driveway, you typically do not need a permit. However, if you plan to place the dumpster on public property, such as the street, you may need a permit from your local city or town. We recommend checking with your local regulations to determine if a permit is necessary.
